Test Engineer Perform engineering testing to improve laboratory at facility. Responsible for verifying tests are properly executed and provide input for development of our testing capabilities to meet the needs of future products. Ensure that test reports, with conclusions, are properly written and distributed as appropriate. Work towards improvements of existing testing standards for common tests and define solutions to safely perform non-standard testing. Provide technical input for specification of new equipment and business investment alternatives. Develop new product requirements with respect to validation needs based on project scope. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable (ANSI, IEEE, IEC, UL series and other) standards. Participate in design and safety reviews and provide recommendations. Review and approve test setups, performance, and conclusions while publishing official test reports to internal and external customers.
10% travel req'd. for high power test labs onsite review to Chalfont, PA and Arnhem, Netherlands.
Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, foreign equivalent or closely related field.
Five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in job offered, or related occupation.
Illinois PE certification req'd.
Position requires experience in the following:
- Special application transformer like Rectifier, traction & Hazardous location Transformers,
- Lean Six Sigma, Red X, or other problem-solving certification,
- Experience with high voltage, 38 kV or above,
- IEC, IEEE, and other relevant electrical standards, and
- Root cause analysis techniques.
