Full Job Description

This position has no in-person office requirements. Candidate will be required to travel up to 25% to customer and contractor locations.

The Test Director is responsible for the overall management, planning, coordination, and execution of testing activities for communications services programs and projects. This position provides strategic leadership for the development and execution of the Master Test Plan, ensuring all testing activities are conducted in accordance with program objectives, technical requirements, quality standards, and client expectations.

Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities (use short bullets):

  • Provide overall responsibility for the development, maintenance, and execution of the Master Test Plan.
  • Establish test strategies, methodologies, schedules, procedures, and success criteria for communications services testing initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of testing activities with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and client objectives.
  • Approve test plans, test cases, test readiness assessments, and final test reports.
  • Direct and oversee all phases of testing, including planning, integration, execution, analysis, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor test performance and ensure testing activities are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Evaluate test results, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Ensure proper documentation of test procedures, findings, deficiencies, and lessons learned.
  • Communicate test status, risks, issues, and recommendations to executive leadership and customer representatives.
  • Ensure client objectives and desired outcomes are achieved through effective planning and execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the test and evaluation of communications services.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing complex Master Test Plans.
  • Extensive knowledge of test and evaluation methodologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of communications services, telecommunications networks, and related technologies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale communications systems, network services, telecommunications, or related technology programs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) or equivalent.

Our Test Director's earn between $130,700 - $275,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
