Description

Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). The Air Force, Space & Intel Business Group (AFSI) of SAIC is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secure and adaptable IT infrastructure, provide customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Job Description

Develops and executes comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies for application development and sustainment activities in support of the Program Executive Office (PEO) efforts. These efforts focus on driving transformative change in IT resource planning and execution for the Acquisition and Budget Management (ABM) Tool and the ServiceNow platform. As part of the overall transformation effort, these activities seek to provide innovative, emergent, and ongoing business process and enterprise IT solution improvements to the DCSA OCIO environment, in line with DoD and DCSA OCIO policies, procedures, and data standards.

The Test Engineer collaborates with QA Analysts, Software Developers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts to design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures for ServiceNow modules and custom integrations. The engineer will build and implement automated testing frameworks and ensure compliance with industry and DoD best practices for software quality. This role is critical in delivering enhancements that support leadership decision-making, operational excellence, and innovative IT resource management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed test plans, strategies, and cases for ServiceNow modules and software updates to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Design, write, and maintain reusable automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF), and CI/CD frameworks.
  • Leverage DoD Approved Multimodal AI models to support creation of customized ATF Steps
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for ServiceNow applications and custom workflows.
  • Conduct API testing to ensure seamless integration between systems.
  • Identify, track, and report bugs through detailed defect reports, severity assessments and bug hunts with development team.
  • Provide regular metrics on test coverage, defect trends, and overall product quality during software development.
  • Collaborate in sprint planning sessions, defect triage meetings, retrospectives, and stakeholder reviews to ensure alignment on testing approaches and deliverables.
  • Stay updated on DoD cybersecurity and data protection mandates. Apply industry-standard best practices for quality software testing to enhance testing coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure test automation frameworks are optimized and continually improved to reduce test cycle times and increase defect detection efficiencies.
  • Produce dashboards and performance reports to provide digestible and actionable insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Activities, creating UAT Tests, while working closely with Product Owners

Qualifications

It is required that the Test Automation Engineer have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Nine (9) or more years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, and automation.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required at the start of employment.
  • Certification: Holds IAT Level II certification in one of the following: CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP.

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Seven (7) or more years of applicable experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow development and testing, including modules, workflows, and integrations.
  • Knowledge of test automation tools such as Selenium or ServiceNow ATF, and experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in Agile or DevOps teams.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
