We are seeking an experienced
Test & Acceptance Specialist to support the testing, validation, and quality assurance of fiber optic infrastructure. This role is responsible for analyzing fiber test data, verifying network performance, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in fiber optic testing, outside plant (OSP) networks, and telecommunications infrastructure, along with the ability to interpret technical documentation and collaborate across project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze OSP dark fiber test results, including insertion loss, OTDR, power meter, fiber inspection, chromatic dispersion (CD), and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) data.
- Validate test methodologies, equipment settings, and results to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Review fiber performance to identify potential issues, degradation, or opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare clear, detailed reports documenting test results, findings, and network performance.
- Maintain accurate project records and update network inventory documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to support successful project delivery.
- Ensure all testing activities adhere to established quality standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical expertise related to fiber optic testing, network validation, and acceptance processes.
- Review construction drawings and technical documentation to verify testing requirements and project deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry with exposure to outside plant (OSP) fiber networks, optical transport systems, and network infrastructure.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience analyzing fiber optic test results, including OTDR, OLTS, fiber inspection, chromatic dispersion (CD), and polarization mode dispersion (PMD).
- Working knowledge of structured cabling, routing, switching, and IP networking concepts.
- Experience using fiber testing and reporting tools such as EXFO FastReporter, EXFO ConnectorMax, VIAVI FiberCable2 Suite, VIAVI FiberChekPRO, or similar industry platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Google Earth, and standard business software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering documents, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
