About the Role:
The Territory Manager role is ideal for a results-driven
sales professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships, growing existing accounts, and uncovering new business opportunities within an assigned region. This position is well suited to candidates with experience in
territory sales, channel sales, distributor management, or contractor-facing business development, particularly within
building materials, construction products, manufacturing, or related industries. In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth, achieving or exceeding territory targets, and strengthening brand presence in the market. You will work closely with customers and channel partners to deliver clear, value-based product guidance, identify opportunities for expansion, and position solutions that support their business needs. *This role is remote and open to candidates based in
North Carolina, South Carolina, or Eastern Tennessee.
Responsibilities
- Grow and retain existing accounts by understanding customer needs, recommending solutions, and building long-term relationships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the territory.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to inform sales strategy.
- Conduct joint sales calls with customers, partners, and prospects.
- Deliver product demonstrations, installations, and hands-on training.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate customer records and complete required reporting (e.g., sales activity, expenses, service/quality).
- Support sales planning, including budgets and forecasts.
- Represent the company within local industry and trade organizations.
- Communicate company service guidelines and ensure customer understanding.
- Develop strong product and market knowledge, including competitive offerings.
- Build strategic partnerships by aligning with partners’ business goals and capabilities.
- Develop and execute annual business plans with key partners, including regular performance reviews.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of successful sales experience, preferably in the Building Materials industry
- Experience in the Commercial & Industrial market preferred
- Experience selling through distribution required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of thebuilding and construction industryandsales principles
- Experience usingERP/CRM systems, such asBridgeorSalesforce
- Ability to develop and executepractical, results-driven sales strategies
- Strongcommunication, presentation and negotiationskills
- Able tobuild relationships, collaborate effectively, and support customers and colleagues
- Strongdecision-making,follow-up, andproblem-solvingskills
- Able to managemultiple prioritiesin a fast-paced environment
