The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Territory Development Representative youwill make an impact by finding and developing net-new Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sales opportunities across the region, while enabling the Account Management team to remain focused on their assigned priority accounts. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Prospecting and acquiring net-new accounts with high growth potential by analyzing market and account data to prioritize targets (including lost business), then pursue through customer outreach, site visits, and face-to-face engagement with facility managers, safety directors, and procurement teams.
- Developing newly acquired accounts into high-potential, high-value customers through cross-selling, product expansion, and relationship building before handing off to the Account Management team
- Conducting training presentations to new and potential customers and long-tail channel partners, driving opportunities and promoting 3M solutions.
- Collaborating with Marketing and Technical teams to assist with market research, new product launches, and promotional projects.
- Handing off matured accounts to the priority account team once they reach defined revenue thresholds or repeat purchase milestones.
- Personal development — product and regulatory knowledge through self-study and corporate training programs.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- One (1) year of Salesforce experience
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start)
- Demonstrated mastery of all aspects of developing sales growth with emerging markets and accounts, manage challenging customers, and technical selling
- Proven experience of end-user and distribution selling and support
- Three (3) years of sales experience in a Business Development Role. Relevant product and industry knowledge is an asset in a private, public, government or military environment
Work location: Remote
Sales Territory: Western Canada
Travel: May include up to 80% travel within BC, AB and SK. Some overnight travel
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Applicable to Canada Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $100,591 - $132,781, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
