Account Manager - Capital Equipment Medical Device Sales

Territory: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana

We are seeking an experienced Territory Account Manager with a background in capital equipment medical device sales to drive growth throughout our newly established Western territory. This role is ideal for someone who knows how to introduce differentiated technology, develop physician champions and help hospitals rethink established clinical practices.

This is a remote, field-based position. Candidates must reside near Sacramento or Southern CA and live within reasonable driving distance of a major commercial airport to support frequent travel throughout the territory.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan focused on opening new hospital accounts and expanding utilization within existing accounts.
  • Introduce a differentiated therapy that requires clinical education, behavior change and strong physician advocacy.
  • Navigate complex capital equipment sales involving physicians, clinical leaders, hospital administration, procurement and value analysis committees.
  • Develop physician champions and effectively communicate the clinical and economic value of Aquadex therapy.
  • Lead product demonstrations, business reviews and proposals while managing opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Partner with Clinical Education Specialists to support account launches, customer education and continued utilization growth.


Requirements

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical device sales or medical device market development.
  • Experience in cardiology, cardiac surgery, structural heart, ventricular assist devices, nephrology or another clinically complex specialty is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success selling capital equipment within hospitals or similarly complex healthcare environments.
  • Experience introducing a disruptive or differentiated technology that required customers to change an established practice or treatment approach.
  • Proven ability to develop physician champions and work effectively with clinical and administrative stakeholders.
  • Strong territory planning, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory and live within reasonable driving distance of a major commercial airport.
  • Ability to meet applicable vendor credentialing requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Work Environment and Travel Expectations
  • This is a remote, field-based position serving California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.
  • The Territory Account Manager is expected to maintain a regular physical presence at customer sites throughout the assigned territory.
  • Approximately 50-70% travel is required, including regular driving, domestic air travel and overnight stays.
  • Travel requirements may vary based on customer needs and territory priorities.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary of $100,000 plus a target annual commission opportunity of $100,000 at 100% quota attainment, for total on-target earnings of $200,000. Commissions are uncapped, and actual earnings will vary based on performance under the applicable sales incentive plan.
  • Quarterly commission payouts
  • Monthly car allowance
