Terminal Manager to lead its large pickup and delivery (P&D) transport terminal in Dorval, Quebec. Reporting to the Director, Operations - Quebec, the Terminal Manager is accountable for delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while achieving financial and customer performance targets.
The Terminal Manager drives operational excellence through strong employee engagement, clear communication, and the effective use of key business metrics related to cost control, safety, service quality, and asset utilization.

ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership:
- Managing all terminal operations including dispatch, dock, and P&D functions to ensure efficient daily freight movements
- Ensuring optimal routing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet service commitments
- Partnering with sales and customer service teams to address customer needs and resolve escalations
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with peers across the Midland network to enhance productivity and reduce operational inefficiencies
Employee Engagement:
- Fostering a culture focused on teamwork, accountability, respect and continuous improvement.
- Leading, coaching and developing frontline supervisors and staff across unionized and non-unionized roles.
- Maintaining positive labour relations through effective communication and consistent application of collective agreements.
Financial & Cost Management:
- Managing terminal operating costs including labour, third-party cartage, overtime, asset usage and maintenance.
- Monitoring and achieving budget targets, on-time delivery rates, freight claim rates, and cost per shipment metrics.
- Identifying and implementing cost control strategies while maintaining service quality.
Safety & Compliance:
- Championing a strong safety culture aligned with JDI and Midland standards and policies
- Ensuring full compliance with all hours-of-work and health and safety legislation,
- Leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence in partnership with the health, safety and environment team
Qualifications- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or courier operations
- Post-secondary education in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred; and equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Proven experience managing large, unionized workforces in a terminal or distribution centre environment
- Strong understanding of routing and dispatch operations, terminal and dock operations, and KPI-driven performance management
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to manage operational performance, cost, and service outcomes
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in both French and English is required (English: 50% of communications, including meetings with head office and managers across other provinces, reports, and emails; French: 50% of communications, training sessions, and meetings with team members and Quebec colleagues).
- French and English proficiency: Advanced level.
- Fast-paced, operational environment with regular presence on the terminal floor
- Availability to support operations outside of standard business hours as required
- Interaction with drivers, dockworkers, supervisors, office staff and external stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned.
