Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Advisory Services, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for various Human Resources Services programs including recruitment, WSIB and attendance management, payroll, back up for the grievance process and general day-to-day office administration for the Human Resources division. Using independent judgment, critical thinking, and discretion, this position performs a wide variety of administrative and human resource tasks and customer service to employees.
Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to:
Providing administrative and operational support across various Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, labour relations, health, safety, wellness, and organizational effectiveness.
Receiving, responding to, and redirecting employee, retiree, candidate, and public inquiries while providing information on HR programs, policies, procedures, and services.
Managing departmental communication channels, including general HR email accounts, telephone lines, and front-counter services.
Coordinating office operations, supplies, records management, technology requests, meetings, training sessions, and departmental events.
Maintaining confidential employee records and processing employee data changes in compliance with legislative, corporate, and record retention requirements.
Processing HR transactions in Workday, including hires, transfers, promotions, leaves, retirements, and terminations.
Supporting recruitment activities by coordinating job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, testing administration, hiring documentation, and onboarding activities.
Coordinating seasonal and student recruitment programs, including administering the Canada Summer Jobs Grant Program.
Creating and maintaining reports, metrics, and analytics related to recruitment, turnover, attendance, health and safety, and other HR initiatives.
Providing Workday support and troubleshooting assistance to employees and managers.
Assisting with attendance management, disability management, leave administration, WSIB claims, and health, safety, and wellness programs.
Supporting health and safety initiatives, Joint Health and Safety Committee activities, wellness programs, and related documentation and reporting requirements.
Conducting surveys, compiling data, and preparing reports to support benchmarking, program evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Processing invoices, departmental expenditures, and financial transactions in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
Providing administrative and project support to Human Resources team members and contributing to special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.

What You Bring To Our TeamAs the successful applicant, you must possess:
Post secondary education (college diploma or university degree) in Human Resources, Business/Public Administration or equivalent
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant H.R. office experience; or, have an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Lean Green belt or working towards certification would be considered an asset;
Sound knowledge of human resources theory, best practices and applicable legislation.
Understanding of HRIS platforms and practices.
Extensive experience using and superior knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Publisher, Adobe and HRIS databases (Workday);
Demonstrated experience in data management, reporting, and analytics, including maintaining data integrity, preparing metrics, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive and confidential information.
Excellent customer service, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
