Job Summary:In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of temporary electrical components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for temporary electrical engineering matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard electrical engineering techniques and criteria will enable you to make impactful contributions to the project.
Major Responsibilities:- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
- Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
Provides technical assistance to other electrical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards - Aids project and construction management in identifying and complying with project temporary electrical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
- Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals
Education and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:- Understanding of Electrical Systems that are designed and used for power demands of temporary offices and structures
- Familiar with NEC to use for reference when supporting design, installation, and/or inspection of temporary power components
- Ability to understand, provide quantity take-offs of both equipment and cables for procurement from General Arrangement drawings and Cable Assembly drawings
- Good communications skills when working with Superintendents and Craft Professionals
- Good organizational skills to track quantities ordered, installed, inspected, and stock on-hand of required temporary equipment and cabling
- Preferred high level of computer technical skills to utilize automation, application programs, and BSAPs
