Qualifications

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Telemetry Charge Nurse at Arizona General Hospital - Mesa, you will provide critical oversight of nursing activities during a specific shift, serving as a vital resource to staff and ensuring optimal patient flow. This leadership role is central to assuring appropriate resource utilization, providing direct patient care as needed, and ensuring quality care in a patient-satisfying manner.

 

Every day you will coordinate patient flow within the unit to facilitate timely and effective care, utilizing the Clinical Response Team (CRT) as appropriate. You will demonstrate exceptional prioritization and critical thinking in acute situations, accurately assessing patients' physical, emotional, spiritual, and learning needs. Your responsibilities include developing and evaluating effective care plans, providing patient teaching, and documenting accurately. You'll also evaluate and coach staff, ensure standards of care are maintained, and coordinate processes for obtaining Ethics Consults when needed.

 

To be successful in this role, you will be an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit. You will demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and a strong understanding of surgical procedures and critical care principles. Your ability to lead, manage resources, and troubleshoot issues while maintaining compliance with all policies and standards will be crucial in this demanding Charge Nurse role.
