TechOps Director, BaseballReports to: Head of Baseball
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Atlanta, GA required.
Role OverviewHawk-Eye Innovations is seeking a TechOps Director to lead the deployment, reliability and scalability of all Hawk-Eye and KinaTrax baseball technologies across MLB, MiLB, NCAA and international venues. This role owns how we deploy and manage technology, from software releases to hardware roll-outs, and ensures platform stability, automation and service management at scale. Working across Solution Owners, Systems & Sales Engineering, Operations and R&D, the TechOps Director drives platform progression and continuous improvement without owning day-to-day venue operations.
ResponsibilitiesTechnology Deployment & Commissioning- Own the end-to-end software and hardware deployment process for new installations and upgrades.
- Define acceptance criteria and manage factory acceptance, lab testing and field commissioning.
- Ensure roll-outs meet reliability, latency and data-quality targets across all leagues and countries.
Service Management & Reliability Engineering- Lead the service management function, including incident response, root-cause analysis, change management and release governance.
- Establish SLAs/OLAs for platform availability, latency and support response times; report KPIs and trends.
- Build proactive monitoring, observability and automation tools to reduce manual intervention.
Platform Evolution & Automation- Drive continuous platform engineering initiatives to simplify deployments, unify software stacks and reduce operational complexity.
- Collaborate with R&D and Systems & Sales Engineering to validate new hardware and software before wide release.
- Champion automation and tooling to enable Operations to run more venues with fewer manual processes.
Leadership & Team Management- Lead and develop TechOps managers, leads and engineers; set objectives and career paths.
- Own the TechOps budget for per-kit cost, cloud, tooling and team costs; collaborate with the Operations Director on shared hardware costs.
Your Qualifications & Skills- 7+ years' experience in technical operations, DevOps, platform engineering or similar roles; 5+ years leading teams.
- Proven track record deploying and operating large-scale distributed systems or broadcast technologies.
- Expertise in incident management, release management, automation tooling and infrastructure as code.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills; able to translate technical details for non-technical audiences.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills- Experience with sports-technology platforms, broadcast systems, edge or cloud computing.
- Familiarity with Hawk-Eye, KinaTrax or comparable tracking technologies.
- Certifications in IT service management (ITIL), cloud platforms or network engineering.
Salary & Benefits DisclosureThe anticipated annual base salary for this position is $76,376.00 - $101,834.00. This range does not include any other compensation components or bonuses for which an individual may be eligible. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, unique skill sets, educational background, professional certifications, and geographic location.
