Minimum Salary: $86,352/Days: 224

Primary Purpose:

Liaison between the Technology Department, architectural companies, construction contractors, and other vendors and trades to ensure all the facility technology work and installations are completed based on the construction or renovation requirements. Monitor new and renovation construction projects' progress, deadlines, standards, codes, and completeness.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED (required)

Bachelor or Associate Degree in Technology or Construction or a related field (preferred)

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other relevant certification (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Technical leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, implement, and handle multiple concurrent projects, including excellent time and project management skills
  • Knowledge of enterprise technology systems utilized in a K12 environment
  • Knowledge of construction processes, as related to technology needs
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and any types of cabling used in technology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage functional testing of all technology items in the construction project including, but not limited to classroom A/V, bells, PA, CCTV, door access control, computing deployments, network equipment, fiber, network closet components, and other technology needs.
  • Ability to read and understand all types of architectural documents and drawings
  • Familiarity with construction documentation software packages, including the ability to prepare construction-related reports and presentations

Experience:
  • 5 years of experience working in K12 technology (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience managing or supporting projects in K12 (preferred) or experience managing or supporting projects within technical fields (required)

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Technology Projects Management

1. Serve as the technology representative on all construction projects

2. This position will work with the Technology department to develop district standards including but not limited to classroom A/V, bells, PA, CCTV, door access control, computing deployments, network equipment, fiber, network closet components, and other technology needs.

3. Oversee construction projects from conception to completion including ongoing site inspections.

4. Review projects in-depth, to make sure all technology needs are recorded in the architectural documents.

5. Manage digital construction documents, drawings, and project files including as-built drawing management.

6. Monitor all onsite and offsite technology construction needs, making sure everything is in compliance with architectural designs.

7. Constantly monitor and review construction progress to meet an acceptable schedule and report issues and changes to all stakeholders as they occur for successful project completion.

8. Assist construction companies and subcontractors with any issues that might arise from a technology standpoint including managing and mitigating problems in the field to avoid unnecessary changes.

9. Participate in technology, architectural planning, and construction meetings.

10. Must be able to prepare internal and external updates pertaining to job status.

11. Assists in updating construction standards resulting from construction project feedback.

12. Coordinate all functional testing requirements, review as-built conditions, assist in punch list completion and follow-up and verify all installed conditions meet project specifications and requirements

13. Assist in any Post Occupancy feedback and oversee all technology warranty items for the first year after renovation or construction.

14. Coordinate with other teams the delivery of furniture so technology can be installed in a timely manner.

15. Assist Technology in the coordination of any required third-party commissioning activities.
