In Premier Health's Digital Health & Technology (DH&T) division, you will play an important role in helping the organization deliver cost-effective, secure, and high-quality project outcomes that support patients, caregivers, and operational excellence across the health system.

This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy bringing structure to complex work, building alignment among stakeholders, and leading teams to deliver results on time and within scope. As the entry-level position within the DH&T Project Manager Career Ladder, this role offers the chance to strengthen your project leadership capabilities while expanding your knowledge of information systems, healthcare operations, technical infrastructure, applications, and business processes. You will manage multiple small to moderate projects, or several larger low-complexity initiatives, using Agile and/or traditional Waterfall approaches.

  • Interact with project stakeholders to manage the implementation of cost-effective, secure solutions that deliver high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Establish project team member accountabilities and drive results while fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Anticipate project issues, adjust plans as needed, and escalate risks related to scope, delivery, or budget to DH&T leadership
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans throughout the full project life cycle
  • Assist with facilitating and documenting project provisioning meetings
  • Lead projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing
  • Adapt to changing requirements and ambiguity while resetting goals and timelines when necessary
  • Collaborate with architects to understand and execute project design and scope
  • Maintain control of project scope and adhere to project budgets where applicable
  • Manage multiple small to moderate projects simultaneously and/or a few large, low-complexity projects
  • Track expenditures associated with project budgets when applicable
  • Build constructive relationships with vendors and maintain positive customer interactions throughout assigned projects


Note: Hybrid work environment: Candidates must be willing to commute and work "in-person" occasionally at the Dayton, Ohio area offices

  • Experience as an IT Manager or similar technology leader with prior responsibility for hiring, leading, and developing direct employees
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience in Information Technology or a related project environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a Technology discipline with 2 years of IT Project Management experience, or a related Bachelor's degree with 4 years of Project Management experience, or an Associate's degree with 6 years of Project Management experience, or no degree with 8 years of relevant experience

*Years of experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Area of study may include Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or clinical healthcare disciplines such as nursing or radiology
  • Ability to independently lead projects with limited scope related to complexity, budget, resources, departments, and timeframe
  • Fundamental understanding of project management concepts, tools, and methodologies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with users, colleagues, developers, leadership, and stakeholders
  • Moderate to significant organizational and documentation skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with and manage cross-functional work teams with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish accountability within project teams and ensure follow-through on responsibilities
  • Ability to gather, understand, and document technical and operational processes and workflows to define project requirements
  • Preferred experience in operations and technical requirements gathering, healthcare systems, technical applications or infrastructure support, clinical environments, and project management
