- Serves as chairperson of district technology committees for the development of activities, training materials, and program to disseminate technology information and promote cooperation among schools.
- Incorporates principals of the district technology plan into the development of the school technology plan.
- Develops and coordinates the implementation of the school technology plan.
- Provides for on-going evaluation of the school technology plan and make program modifications as needed.
- Designs, coordinates, and provides instructional technology in-service opportunities for school-based personnel.
- Contributes to the design of the integration of technology into schools curriculum.
- Establishes an environment which promotes utilization of lab, encourages creative use of instructional technology throughout the school.
- Contributes to student's development of skills in the use of instructional technology resources.
- Assists educators in planning for the use and integration of technology in the instructional program.
- Serves as a resource for the use of appropriate instructional technology in the classroom and the school computer lab.
- Provides technical assistance to facilitate the use of technology-based communication networks by school educators.
- Provides technical assistance to facilitate the implementation of existing and future media technologies such as laser disks, interactive video, CD-ROM, etc. in the school.
- Seek out educator and student participation in selection and evaluation of technology materials and equipment to support instructional objectives.
- Assists in the implementation of standard inventory and repair procedures for technology resources.
- Participates in study and training as necessary to update knowledge of technology in education.
- Recommends budget requirements for an effective school technology plan.
- Provides technical assistance on the uses of computers to staff, school and sites.
- Participates in training to enhance technology education.
- Updates personal technological knowledge and skills.
- Works with the administrative team to identify and establish alternative funding for technology.
- Serves on the Technology Committee, attends meetings, and assists with the coordination of the development and implementation of the district's technology plan.
- Maintain an inventory of all district technology hardware and software and a long-range technology replacement plan.
- Provide leadership and direction for the development, revision and continuous improvement of district technology systems.
- Contributes to the budget process for acquisition of district hardware, software and other technology-related expenditures.
- Plans, coordinate and communicate technology-related management systems and policies.
- Maintenance and manages of the school file server and local network system and wide area networks.
- Develops/modifies staff development programs and materials to meet specific school needs related to the instructional use of computers.
- Acts as a resource to all school personnel.
- Maintains and updates the technology inventory records.
- Previews, evaluates, and recommends software and hardware purchases.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
