Full Job Description
The Technologist will assist engineers with designing, developing, testing, and repairing autonomous vehicles, or other equipment. The role will provide mentorship and technical support to other employees and work to keep operational activities on schedule and functioning smoothly. The Technologist role supports project growth and development. This position is located in Dearborn, MI.

As a Technologist Senior, you will be responsible for:
  • Perform diagnostic and repair activities on low and high voltage electrical, electronic, instrumentation and mechanical systems
  • Train, coach, mentor and provide technical support to other team members regarding mechanical and electrical design, fabrication and testing responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert
  • Assemble, disassemble, diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and high voltage electric vehicle systems using power supplies, function generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes and OBD (On Board Diagnostics) diagnostic interface tools
  • Validate and test products through activities such as setting up vehicles, components, or equipment for the testing of electrical, electronic, mechanical, instrumentation or integrated systems or equipment
  • Maintain and repair electrified and autonomous vehicles and systems to include de-energizing and replacing high voltage batteries and components
  • Ensure preparedness of vehicles, systems, or components to be tested and schedule operational and test activities
  • Collect, organize, and interpret instrumentation test data

To be considered as a Technologist Senior, you will need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of automotive, prototype or testing experience
  • Experience performing electrical splicing, crimping, soldering and mechanical layout and packaging of components and systems
  • Experience in high voltage electrified vehicle systems
  • Ability to lead and work with different cross functional teams and have excellent organizational skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills specifically with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret data from testing results and software and manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of vehicle and component instrumentation for testing
  • Good mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical skills

A successful candidate may also have:
  • Associate degree in automotive technology, Engineering Technology or related field
  • Experience in fabrication
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Certification or Advanced Level Certification: L1, L2, L3, L4
  • Experience in advanced driver assist and autonomous systems
  • Advanced MS Office skills specifically with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH), heat management, climate, fuel, emissions and electrified vehicle systems testing
  • Light fabrication skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
