Job Description
Job Title: Mammographer
Profession: Technologist

Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4-10 hour shifts per week, Every 3rd Saturday
Hours per Shift: 10
Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Mammography Technologist, with experience in a comprehensive breast center
License: Required credential as a Mammographic Radiologic Technologist or Medical Sonographer
Certifications: BLS required
Must-Have: Proficiency in mammographic scanning; experience with bone density scanning preferred
Description:
Provides mammography imaging services.
Operates equipment and performs various mammography-related procedures.
Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Explains procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents.
Ensures equipment is properly functioning.
Reports potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
