Job Description
Job Title: Mammographer
Profession: Technologist
Specialty: Mammography
Duration: 6 months (negotiable)
Shift: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Tuesday, Thursday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Hours per Shift: 8 hours
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience required
License: ARRT registered in both Radiology and Mammography
Certifications: CPR certification required
Must-Have:
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Biopsy experience preferred
- Experience with full breast ultrasound preferred
- Ability to multitask effectively as patients will be scheduled every 30 minutes
Description:
Provides mammography imaging services.
Operates equipment and performs various mammography related procedures.
Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Explains procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents.
Ensures equipment is properly functioning.
Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
This includes procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Ability to work with minimal supervision is necessary.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
