Position Summary:
The Linux Application Support & Automation Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting Java-based applications hosted on Linux platforms. The role involves Linux system administration, application hosting, scripting and automation using Shell, Python, Perl, and BladeLogic NSH, along with managing TLS/SSL certificates and resolving application, server, and network connectivity issues. The engineer collaborates with infrastructure, network, and application teams to ensure high system availability, operational stability, and secure production environments. Experience with deployment automation tools, monitoring platforms, and multi-datacenter environments is highly desirable to drive operational efficiency and proactive support.
Required Skill:
The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in Linux system administration and Java application hosting, with the ability to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise applications running in production environments.
They should be proficient in Shell scripting and have working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and BladeLogic NSH to automate operational tasks, deployments, monitoring, and system maintenance activities.
A deep understanding of TLS/SSL certificates, server certificate implementation, and secure communication protocols is essential. The candidate should be capable of diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues related to certificates, encryption, application communication, and network configurations.
Strong expertise in debugging and root cause analysis is required to investigate application failures, performance issues, and system-level.
Desired Skill
Experience with automation and deployment tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, BladeLogic, and AutoSys.
Exposure to multi-data center environments, firewall/security concepts, and monitoring tools like Splunk, Glassbox, Tealeaf, and SiteScope is highly preferred for effective production support and operational automation.
Mandatory Skills: Linux Admin.
Experience: 5-8 Years.
The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
