We are currently seeking a Techno-Functional Business Analyst to join our team in San Diego, California (US-CA), United States (US).

Position 6 : Business Analyst

Experience: 10+ Yrs.

Location: San Deigo, CA / Remote with USA

Mandatory Industry experience required: Life sciences

Looking for a Business Analyst (BA) with solid experience in Life Sciences industry to bridge the gap between scientific/commercial business units and IT teams. Core responsibilities include requirements gathering, Functional Requirement Specification (FRS) mapping, reporting, and facilitating testing processes (like User Acceptance Testing) to ensure IT solutions comply with regulatory and industry standards.

Engage directly with IT and business teams. Perform BA functions include but not limited to gathering business requirements, FRS mapping, communicating findings from analysis and basic reporting. Also may be involved in testing process and coordinating test case development (by client) and testing plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering: Elicit, analyze, and document user needs and system requirements directly from life sciences stakeholders (e.g., R&D, clinical operations, or commercial teams).
  • FRS Mapping: Map business needs to Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), ensuring developers understand the necessary capabilities.
  • Testing Coordination: Partner with clients to coordinate test case development, build testing plans, and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to guarantee the software meets user expectations. [1, 2]
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform basic data analysis and create reports or dashboards to communicate project performance and key insights.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between IT development teams and business users to translate complex technical jargon into understandable business language.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biotechnology), Computer Science, or Business Administration.
  • Industry Experience: 5+ years of direct experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare environments, often requiring an understanding of regulatory compliance.
  • Technical Skills: 5+ years of proficiency in software development lifecycles (SDLC) like Agile/Scrum, database tools (SQL), and process-mapping software (Visio).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
