Summary

You will serve as a Lead Electronics Technician in the Surface Launch Missile Division (E80) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, Seal Beach, CA detachment.

Duties

Help

  • You will be responsible for comprehensive testing tasking on guided missile sections, telemetry sections, Standard Missiles (SM), and Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles (ESSM) in an all-up-round (AUR) configuration.
  • You will perform and oversee software upgrades on AUR ESSM utilizing the Signal Processor Integrated Tester (SPIT).
  • You will develop and implement strategies to meet program goals while reviewing, recommending, and implementing local test operation and maintenance procedures to assure compliance with Navy and Ordnance Program directives.
  • You will ensure proper preventive and corrective maintenance for the MK-698 and other missile test systems, along with associated ancillary test equipment.
  • You will represent the command at meetings concerning surface missile testing, interpreting technical data for briefings and disseminating information to other mechanics.
  • You will be responsible for the quality performance of subordinate employees, distributing workload effectively and instructing them in specific tasks and techniques.
  • You will assist in in analyzing computer data printouts to isolate failures within the test system or missile components and maintain accurate reports and records.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning or coordinating electronics engineering test and evaluation project operations and tasks to analyze the performance of shipboard missile test systems.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
