Primary Responsibilities:- Evaluate the current technical environment, identify gaps and recommend technical solutions that are reliable, cost effective and that align with organizational priorities.
- Review the existing technology infrastructure and recommend integrated technical solutions and technologies that meet business requirements, shield against technical failures or disruptions and take into consideration inter-site dependencies.
- Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
- Work with stakeholders to define business and system requirements for new technology implementations.
- Oversee vendor relationships and related RFP's and ensure "best of breed" service and competitive pricing.
- Act as a key resource for corporate IT projects and as the local project champion.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, and new technologies and determine whether they will add value to the mine and the potential return on investment.
- Assist with the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all information systems, including servers, operating systems, hardware, software, storage area networks and backup systems.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:- College or degree in a related field plus related certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Effective ability to convey messages in an organized, clear and succinct way.
- Strong technical knowledge of system and network operating systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
- The individual should have demonstrated a high level of energy, self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort.
- Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Working conditions:- 7 days on / 7 days off schedule
- a travel allowance is provided and varies based on distance from the mine site in Dubreuilville, Ontario
- Meals and accommodation provided while working at site
- Must be able to lift 25lbs
Compensation range: $74,750 to $40.43 per hour $97,675
The compensation range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
