Full Job Description
Leidos was awarded the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract, and currently is seeking a Technical Writer. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to modernize a leading, global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of a critical mission, supporting USAF system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities:
As Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. You'll collaborate with engineers, program managers, and customer stakeholders to develop materials that support cloud implementation, training, compliance, and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain high-quality documentation including manuals, user guides, SOPs, training materials, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers, cybersecurity analysts, and program leadership to gather source content and ensure accuracy.
  • Support proposal development and contract deliverables by contributing to written sections and formatting artifacts.
  • Often uses a blend of creativity and ingenuity to develop new technical solutions and systems in order to achieve objectives

  • Ensure documentation aligns with government standards, federal compliance requirements, and Leidos quality expectations.
  • Manage version control and document lifecycle across multiple workstreams.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Typically requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Interim Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
  • Proven experience supporting government programs, with a strong understanding of federal contracting environments.
  • US citizenship required.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably supporting federal or DoD programs.
  • Proven ability to write and edit complex technical content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, cybersecurity principles, and enterprise IT environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and documentation tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Agile development environments and DevSecOps practices.
