Full Job Description
**This Position is Contingent on Contract Award**

Description:

Responsible for preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining a wide range of technical documentation, including software and systems engineering materials, operational procedures, test documentation, and user-focused guides. Creates and edits documentation for hardware and software components-covering installation, configuration, and user instructions. Develops code documentation, implementation guides, and end-user materials. Produces technical publications based on technical drawings, engineering input, and available resources. Supports documentation efforts across all phases of the project lifecycle and ensures materials are clear, accurate, and accessible to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, update, and maintain operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications.
  • Write and edit technical copy for a variety of document types, applying strong grammar and documentation standards.
  • Gather technical information from multiple sources and convert it into clear written text.
  • Maintain an up-to-date internal documentation library.
  • Use multiple documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Collaborate with developers to create high-quality documentation and training materials.
  • Support all phases of the documentation lifecycle.
  • Produce written materials for programs or projects of similar scope and complexity.
  • Prepare reports, responses, and briefings tailored to a wide range of audiences.
  • Coordinate document layout, formatting, and design.
  • Research complex technical subject matter and synthesize information into accessible written materials.
  • Develop documentation based on engineering drawings, technical data, SME consultations, and related sources.
  • Produce DoD-focused documentation such as acquisition materials, user manuals, and training manuals.
  • Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings, as well as operational procedures, to integrate technical information effectively.
  • Create documentation for Cryptologic programs or projects tied to analytic tradecraft development.
  • Apply NSA technical manual standard DS-89 when developing work products.

Qualifications:
  • Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Substitution: Four (4) additional years of Technical Writing experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
