Job Title: Technical Trainer/Continuous Improvement Champion

Summary of Job

Instructs and lectures on safe operations of machinery and equipment. Utilizes existing training program as well as creates and conducts technical training programs for all new hires, promoted employees and identifies training needs of existing team members. Determines training objectives that teach ability to operate all types of full converting line and finishing equipment within Pregis standards for waste, quality, and productivity.

Implement training programs, manuals/handouts, and designs hands-on practical exercises. Administers written and practical exams and evaluates trainees' performance. Collaborates with human resources, safety, shift supervision and operators as related to employee training needs. Provides innovative/creative solutions for opportunities and/or continuous improvements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Performs skills gap analysis using DMAIC methods and defines training objectives.
  • Holds Kaizen events as needed to address recommended solutions.
  • Collaborates with human resources, safety, shift supervision and operators related to employees' training needs.
  • Identifies any systemic or individual skills deficiencies and recommends solutions.
  • Enhances training programs, including outlines, text, handouts, tests and hands-on practical exercises.
  • Administers written and practical exams and evaluates trainees' performance.
  • Coordinates and schedules training events.
  • Maintains records of completed training sessions.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects assigned.

  • Knowledge of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to give and receive coaching well and coach others respectfully.
  • Must have the technical ability to operate all types of full converting line and finishing equipment within Pregis standards for waste, quality, and productivity.
  • Experience with MS office applications: Intermediate Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

Position Type

  • Occasional weekends may be required based on operational needs

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent related experience of of 4-7 years of hands-on inline finishing experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Some college or Technical School preferred
  • Must have the technical ability to operate all types of full converting line and finishing equipment within Pregis standards for waste, quality, and productivity.
  • Bilingual a plus


Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis' total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $90-$120K.
