General Summary:As a senior Technical Standards contributor and participant, you will work closely with internal and external partners to improve and evolve industry technical standards while representing Qualcomm as a delegate in standardization forums and industry organizations. Your responsibility will include understanding data center firmware and software industry landscapes and domestic and international competitors' strength and weaknesses, working with internal partners to identify existing and emerging standards for Qualcomm to focus on, working with external partners in developing and promoting standards, helping formulate, maintain and execute on Qualcomm's strategy for data center standards, and working with attorneys to file patents that protect the novel IP aspects of any inventions.
The key area of focus for the candidate is firmware and software standards for data center systems spanning server, edge and accelerators. System software development experience in firmware, kernel and Linux operating systems is a must. UEFI, drivers, kernel virtualization, hypervisor, systems management, network management, compiler, toolchain and QEMU experience are highly desirable. Experience in open-source software development is a must.
Qualifications- Master's Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years' experience in software engineering and open-source development with a focus on Firmware, Kernel and Operating systems in either Arm or RISC-V ISA systems
- 4+ years of experience with technical standards bodies or industry organizations such as UEFI Forum, OCP, Linux Foundation, JEDEC, ISO, PCIe, IEEE, DMTF
- Strong networking and influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications- Strong understanding of open-source licensing models and open-source development ecosystems
- Detailed knowledge of data center technologies design, development and deployment across enterprises, HPC and hyperscalers
- Strong understanding of international data center landscapes and strategic incentives of major players
- Software Development experience with server and edge systems including architecture, design, emulation, implementation, verification, and upstreaming
- Familiarity with Qualcomm semiconductor products and technologies is a plus
- Experience with and/or network of contacts in research and academic community is a plus
- Strong documentation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills is required
- 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership
- 3+ years in a technical leadership role
- 4+ years of system emulation, modeling, or test experience
- Note that some travel is required for this role

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits: $212,800.00 - $319,200.00
