Job Description:

The Frequency and Time Systems (FTS) development team is seeking an experienced circuit design engineer to help develop advanced network timing equipment, including PTP grandmasters and NTP servers. This role spans analog and digital circuit design, including DDR memories, FPGAs, microprocessors, and MCUs, and requires hands-on ownership from architecture and schematic design through PCB bring-up, validation, documentation, and sustaining support. The engineer will collaborate closely with hardware, software, marketing, test, and manufacturing teams throughout the full product development lifecycle. Experience in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, GNSS simulators, and related test equipment is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new product features, requirements, and system-level tradeoffs.
• Develop analog and digital circuit designs and create schematics using CAD tools.
• Create detailed hardware design documentation and test plans.
• Partner with PCB layout engineers on board layout, signal integrity, manufacturability, and design reviews.
• Contribute to system architecture, component selection, and hardware implementation planning.
• Enter and maintain design data in the Agile PLM system.
• Support software and digital design engineers during board bring-up, driver development, and validation of board-level functions.
• Drive hardware development from concept through finished product, including bring-up, validation, release, and sustaining support.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering/Science; Masters degree preferred.
• 12+ years of hands-on circuit design experience.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design concepts and principles.
• Excellent knowledge of digital systems and computer architecture.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and documentation skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to drive tasks to completion.
• Hands-on experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and related test equipment.
• Experience with Altium and/or HyperLynx CAD tools.
• Experience with high-speed PCB transmission line structures, signal integrity practices, and related design constraints.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $91,000 - $232,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
