Job DescriptionYou will be the Technical Publications Writer - Level 3 for the Technical Publications team which is responsible for authoring and maintaining aircraft maintenance instructions.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Technical Publications Writer - Level 3 you will be responsible for translating complex engineering data into clear, accurate maintenance documentation that keeps aircraft operational and safe.

- Develop and deliver technically accurate maintenance documentation both independently and as part of a team.
- Verify and certify publication content to ensure corrective actions are met and documentation complies with all requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and customer support representatives to gather necessary technical data.
- Communicate proactively with engineering and customers to fulfill program requirements.
- Travel as needed to support field operations and customer engagements.

Further Information About This OpportunityMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications• Experience interfacing with operational and maintenance personnel in dynamic operational work environments
• Experience interpreting complex tech drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and/or specifications
• Familiar with the MIL-STDs, MIL-DTLs, and/or Tech Order authoring of military manuals
• Demonstrated experience controlling changes and version control, supporting release management of technical publications
Desired skills• Exceptional attention to detail
• Experience with markup language authoring (Knowledgeable in element and attribute XML tagging for S1000D-compliant interactive electronic publications)
• Experience with Database entry and management
• Experience evaluating technical order changes
• Understanding of aircraft inspection requirements
• Experience with electronic technical publications task relationships, applicability, and change management.
Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $77,700 - $136,965. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
