Full Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager (TPM)-Product Development to lead the planning and disciplined execution of battery cell and pack programs. In this role, you will partner closely with a Technical Lead to plan, coordinate, and deliver complex technical projects from R&D through scale-up and deployment. The TPM serves as the operational backbone of the project - driving schedules, managing risks, and ensuring strong alignment across the cross-functional teams.

This is an IN-PERSON position at Sion Power HQ in Tucson AZ.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the scoping, planning and execution of battery cell and pack programs from concept through product launch phases.
  • Develop and maintain detailed master schedules that integrate work across multi-disciplinary teams including R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Test, Supply Chain, etc.
  • Prepare and facilitate weekly project meetings, technical discussions, and milestone readiness reviews.
  • Identify, track, and proactively manage technical, schedule, and resource risks - driving mitigation plans and timely escalation.
  • Translate complex technical progress and challenges into clear program-level insights.
  • Maintain program documentation including schedules, risk registers, decision logs, and meeting summaries, ensuring full traceability throughout the project life cycle.
  • Provide regular progress updates to leadership on program status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Support structured change-management processes and ensure traceability across requirements, decisions, and deliverables.
  • Develop and implement new tools and processes to improve project execution and success.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience, with demonstrated experience leading new product introductions for battery cell or packs.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, particularly defense, aerospace and automotive sectors.
  • Strong knowledge in project management fundamentals and relevant PM processes, methods and tools.
  • Project Management Professional® (PMP) certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a critical-thinking mindset.
  • Exceptional documentation skills with the ability to produce clear requirements, process documentation, and structured project artifacts.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead in matrixed organizations without direct authority.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, drive alignment, and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present project status updates to leadership.
