Full Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support complex, high-visibility hardware development programs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Technical Project Manager will play a key supporting role to Program Managers, helping drive execution across Cable Backplane Systems production test and signal integrity initiatives while developing into a full program ownership capacity. This is a full-time position, and the Technical Project Manager will sit onsite in RTP, NC.

Responsibilities of the Technical Project Manager:
  • Support planning, budgeting, and execution of complex new product development projects in a high-change environment
  • Act as a communication bridge between internal teams and Program Managers to ensure alignment on schedules, deliverables, and priorities
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to keep programs on track
  • Monitor project scope, timelines, and financials while escalating risks, resource gaps, and delays
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and support readiness for production, capacity planning, and system setup

Qualifications of the Technical Project Manager:
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination or management within a manufacturing, hardware, or mechanical environment
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, unstructured, and high-pressure settings with shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across technical teams and interpret engineering drawings and specification
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Willingness to travel 50-60% initially

Compensation for the Technical Project Manager includes:
  • Salary range: $70,000 - $100,000 annually
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401k and holidays
