Responsibilities

TheHealthcare Supply Chain Subject Matter Expert (SME)servesin a dual-function role supporting both Business Development and Customer Success initiatives. In the Business Development capacity, the SME will collaborate closely with proposal teams to craft compelling, technically sound, and winning proposals by leveraging deep expertise in healthcare supply chain operations, logistics, procurement, inventory management, and regulatory compliance to differentiate our solutions and articulate measurable value to prospective clients. In the Customer Success capacity, the SMEwork with the Delivery team toensuresuccessful solution implementation, driving adoption, resolving operational challenges, and fostering long-term satisfaction and retention. This role requires a collaborative, client-focused professional who thrives at the intersection of strategic growth and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with Business Development and proposal teams to develop winning strategies, themes, and differentiators for healthcare supply chain opportunities
  • Review technical volumes, solution narratives, and past performance write-ups for RFP/RFQ/RFI responses
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform proposal positioning and pricing strategies
  • Support client meetings, presentations, and orals coaching as a credible subject matter voice
  • Identifyand qualify new business opportunities byleveragingindustry relationships and knowledge of client pain points
  • Contribute to solution design and technical approach development aligned with client requirements and evaluation criteria
  • Monitor client satisfaction, proactivelyidentifyrisks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure retention and contract renewals
  • Collaborate with delivery and operations teams to resolve client issues, escalate concerns, and drive continuous improvement

  • Supportupselland cross-sell opportunities byidentifyingunmet client needs and aligning them with available solutions
  • Maintain current knowledge of healthcare supply chain trends, regulations, and emerging technologies (e.g., ERP systems, AI-driven inventory tools, value-based care models)
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Experience withinHealthcaresupply chain management.
  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business development activities, including proposal writing, capture support, or solution design for government or commercial healthcare clients
  • Proventrack recordof managing client relationships and delivering measurable outcomes in a customer-facing role
  • Experience with healthcare procurement, inventory management,logistics, and/or distribution operations
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
  • Strong customer relationship capabilities
  • Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and government proposal processes
  • Able to pass a background check to obtain a VA Public Trustclearance
  • US Citizenship

PREFERRED:

  • Experience working in the Federal Government, with an emphasis on Veteran's Administration (VA) experience
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Relevant professional certifications, which may include:
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual27s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
