Full Job Description
As a Technical Program Manager in Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a central role in driving the scaling of vehicle production. Serving as a vital cross-functional bridge, you will lead new manufacturing initiatives and partner with key suppliers to develop comprehensive manufacturing and vehicle validation plans. In this position, you will drive cross-program manufacturing strategies, evaluations, and studies, collaborating closely with teams including Logistics, Vehicle Quality, Manufacturing Diagnostics, Vehicle Engineering, Fleet Operations, and Software to deliver on strategic and operational milestones across Zoox. Your core responsibilities include establishing departmental roadmaps, building project schedules, proactively mitigating risks, overseeing cost projections, and communicating clear progress updates to leadership and key stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with team members to translate the top-down corporate strategy and milestones into detailed roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables
  • Interface with Engineering and Suppliers to define vehicle and manufacturing validation plans for partial and full crash builds
  • Lead manufacturing strategy, assessments, and studies for various programs
  • Coordinate and execute launch readiness and start of production
  • Support vehicle assembly and test operations by ensuring cross-functional alignment and driving resolution/escalation of any roadblocks
  • Collaborate with finance, engineering, procurement, PMO, etc. to define and track resource requirements
  • Drive continuous cross-functional alignment by establishing processes, running meetings, and maintaining transparent communication regarding deliverables and potential risks
  • Support key decisions by working cross-functionally across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and finance to reach the right conclusions


Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in an engineering or management discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing program management
  • Experience with industrial manufacturing (i.e., automotive, aerospace, robotics, etc.) and the necessary integration with related functions (e.g., logistics, quality, design engineering)
  • Strong track record in managing complex cross-functional projects
  • Experience coordinating vehicle/manufacturing validation activities (e.g., crash builds) with external partners and suppliers is a plus


Bonus Qualifications

  • Building strong working relationships with senior leaders and engineers across functions and departments
  • An ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience
  • Experience in launch and scaling of volume production


$160,000 - $203,000 a year

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
