Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Program Manager to drive execution across the Data Platform team. You will coordinate projects and programs across cross-functional initiatives to ensure the successful, on-time delivery of the programs that power Guardant Health's clinical, genomic, and real-world data applications. You bring a solid technical foundation and a track record of managing complex, multi-disciplinary software programs from planning through production release, keeping stakeholders aligned and teams unblocked at every stage.
Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Drive projects within complex, multi-disciplinary programs across the Data Platform. Lead core and sub-teams, coordinate projects and programs, and keep initiatives aligned to program goals and delivery commitments.
- Planning & Scheduling: Build and maintain project timelines, schedules, and roadmaps. Manage resources and dependencies to ensure predictable and on-time delivery.
- SDLC & Governance: Adhere to stage-gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle, ensuring deliverables meet quality and compliance standards.
- Risk & Change Management: Proactively identify, track, and resolve issues, risks, and project change requests. Escalate and drive decisions to keep programs on schedule.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Support cross-functional activities and document management needs across Product, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders. Facilitate agile ceremonies and remove blockers for the team.
- Communication & Reporting: Streamline the delivery of the Data Platform's various AI initiatives, and provide clear, consistent tracking, status reporting, and communication to stakeholders and leadership, translating technical detail into concise updates on progress, risks, and trade-offs.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant project or program management experience, with the majority spent leading complex, multi-disciplinary software projects and programs.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- PMP, CSM, or a similar project management certification is a plus. An advanced degree in a business or technical field is a plus.
- Experience managing software development projects and programs in an Agile environment, coordinating delivery across multiple functions.
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage resources, schedules, risks, issues, and change requests.
- Experience supporting data platform, data engineering, or analytics initiatives is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; equally effective with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
- Experience in HIPAA-compliant healthcare or life sciences environments is a plus.

Hybrid Work Model:This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies. Guardant has defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. This range does not include benefits or, if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need.
Primary Location: Palo Alto, CA
Primary Location Base Pay Range: $156,700 - $215,500
Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $133,195 - $183,175
If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is: $141,030 - $193,950
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
