Responsibilities
The Technical Production Planner III will:
Gather qualitative and quantitative status updates directly from production technicians.
Translate shop-floor updates (e.g., actual hours worked, standard yield rates, technical roadblocks) into accurate lead-time projections and schedule revisions.
Perform continuous Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis within project scheduling software to identify schedule drivers, calculate total float, and pinpoint bottlenecks before they delay delivery.
Own, maintain, and optimize the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Enterprise Scheduling Software (Primavera P6), ensuring standard sequencing, logic ties, resource loading, and constraint management.
Facilitate look-ahead meetings to proactively identify supply chain or labor constraints threatening the critical path. Develop recovery plans accordingly.
Generate clear visual health metrics (e.g., Schedule Variance, Burn-down charts) derived directly from scheduling software for program managers and leadership.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) from an accredited college or university, plus ten (10) years of applicable experience.
Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal) and the ability to interface with various customers.
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and independently on a dynamic development program.
Excellent data gathering, attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills.

Production planning or scheduling experience within an aerospace manufacturing, defense, or high-complexity assembly environment (AS9100 familiarity preferred).
Advanced proficiency and hands-on experience with project scheduling software and strong Excel data modeling skills.
Deep understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) as applied within enterprise planning software.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building trust with floor technicians and communicating technical schedule risks to management
Preferences:
Hands-on experience with Oracle Primavera P6 is highly preferred, as it serves as our primary scheduling platform.
PMI-SP Certification or equivalent.
Experience with very large, complex project schedules.
Experience working in Human Space Flight programs.
