About the role:

The Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Product Marketing Specialist located in Houston, Texas. As a member of the Global Marketing Communications team, the Product Marketing Specialist supports the introduction and maintenance of product-focused marketing materials by collaborating with product managers, engineers and commercial and sales teams to ensure our products' features and benefits messages are clearly communicated to the target audiences.

Further, this role is the key liaison between product development and the marketing department in the development of a variety of sales support and marketing materials for new and existing products and services. You will play a key role in collaboration with the marketing campaign team to deliver product content across a range of marketing channels to meet new product go-to market strategy goals.

What You Will Do:
• Create educational and product marketing content across platforms, ensuring clear, consistent communication of product value and features to internal, external and dealer audiences.
• Collaborate with engineers, key stakeholders and agencies to plan and execute both the development of new and the maintenance of existing materials including spec sheets, brochures, dealer selling guides, webpages and related product-focused content.
• Perform market and competitive research to inform strategy.
• Lead marketing content efforts across channels.
• Manage photography and video production and manage these assets through marketing distribution systems
• Oversee marketing budgets to meet product marketing strategies.

What You Will Have:

Promotion and Marketing Communications: Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.

• Assesses alternative delivery mechanisms for promotional and marketing communications.
• Assists in the development of marketing communication materials.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

• Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.
• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.

Creativity: Knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations.

Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers)

Level Basic Understanding:
• Identifies the roles and responsibilities of own and vendor or supplier's staff.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, a related field or equivalent working experience.
• 3-5 years marketing, communications or related experience ideally in a technical product marketing focused role.
• Ability to simplify information for communication with different audiences using a variety of channels.
• Highly detail oriented with strong multitasking skills
• Strong project and prioritization management, collaboration and creative skills.
• Experience working and communicating with all levels of an organization.
• Background in the oil, gas and/or marine industries is desirable and will enhance success in this role.

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
