Full Job Description
BETA is seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our team in South Burlington, Vermont. This position will lead the strategic development and production of ground support equipment for electric aircraft charging systems. Primary responsibilities include managing external supplier relationships, overseeing PCBA and electronics design projects with contract manufacturers, mitigating technical risks, and driving products from concept through volume manufacturing. This role requires both technical depth to understand electrical systems and program management expertise to coordinate budgets, timelines, quality, and multi-stakeholder projects.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing quality management for electronic assemblies and subsystems, with emphasis on establishing USA-based manufacturing partnerships
  • Manage design and production projects with contract manufacturers (CMs)
  • Own budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for hardware development programs from prototype through production
  • Assess and mitigate technical risks across electrical systems including power conversion, battery management, vehicle communication interfaces, and charging infrastructure
  • Support requirements definition and specifications for PCBAs, power electronics, and control systems in collaboration with internal engineering teams
  • Drive supplier quality initiatives including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements
  • Manage product lifecycle from NPI (New Product Introduction) through sustaining engineering and obsolescence planning
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers and CMs
  • Establish and track KPIs for supplier performance, product quality, cost targets, and schedule adherence

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field and 5+ years of experience in technical program management or product management
  • Proven experience managing contract manufacturers and external suppliers for electronic products
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and technical specifications
  • Experience managing budgets ($1M+), schedules, and cross-functional technical projects
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes including PCBA assembly, testing, and quality control
  • Working knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM), design for test (DFT), and DFMEA methodologies
  • Experience with supplier quality management, including audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent technical communication skills to interface between engineers and business stakeholders

Above and Beyond Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or MBA
  • Experience building domestic (USA-based) electronics supply chains and manufacturing partnerships
  • Direct experience with high-voltage DC systems, power electronics, or electric vehicle charging equipment
  • Knowledge of EV charging standards (J1772, ISO 15118, DIN 70121, IEC 61851) and associated certification requirements
  • Experience with UL, CE, or other regulatory compliance and certification processes
  • Experience with ERP/PLM systems for managing BOMs, change orders, and production data
  • Track record of successful cost reduction and value engineering initiatives
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with international and domestic supplier contracts

Compensation

$110,000-$140,000 USD
