Full Job Description
The Role

As the Technical Product Lead, you'll play a critical role within Xylem's Operational Readiness Team. You'll be responsible for developing the documentation, training, processes, and technical standards that enable successful delivery of our products around the world.

Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Learning & Development, Asset Management, Project Delivery, and Business Development teams, you'll ensure our products are supported by world-class operational practices while helping shape future product improvements.

You'll serve as the technical authority for the PipeDiver® product line, supporting both field operations and product development by translating technical knowledge into practical, scalable solutions.

What You'll Do:
  • Own and continuously improve operational processes for the PipeDiver® product line and supporting equipment.
  • Develop technical documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assembly instructions, testing procedures, maintenance manuals, and repair documentation.
  • Design, develop, and deliver technical training programs in classroom, shop, field, and online environments.
  • Build internal training capability by developing in-house trainers and expanding online learning programs.
  • Manage the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and readiness of operational equipment.
  • Support high-profile, technically complex, or non-standard field projects by providing technical guidance and training.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of projects and provide recommendations during proposal development.
  • Monitor operational issues and identify opportunities for process improvements or product enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and Product Management to successfully transition new products and product upgrades into field operations.
  • Review technical marketing materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Champion quality, safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.


What You'll Bring:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical project delivery or field operations role, including technical planning and delivery.
  • 4-year degree in a technical field or expository writing (preferred)
  • Demonstrated expertise supporting complex technical products in an operational environment.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop technical staff.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process gaps and implement practical solutions.
  • Ability to balance standardization with flexibility while maintaining safety and quality.


Work Environment:

This position is primarily office and warehouse based, with occasional travel to support field projects and training initiatives.

The successful candidate must be able to:
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders.
  • Work in confined spaces when required.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.
