JOB SUMMARY: • The Technical Operations Manager (TOM) reports directly to the General Manager and serves as the leader for the technical office. The TOM oversees all technical documentation supporting aircraft maintenance activities and ensures compliance with customer requirements, pre-planning and project activities associated with the maintenance event.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance Management: • Prepare and track a general project schedule for an aircraft maintenance event in coordination with the TSM to assist management of key milestones, resources, and equipment.
• Review project scope prior to aircraft arrival and ensure necessary documents are compiled, parts and tools are available and schedule vendor services to key milestone events in the schedule.
• Follow prescribed safety and quality regulations at all times.
Revision Management: • Review and monitor the Sales Document for pricing, coding, and other discrepancies throughout maintenance.
o Pre-maintenance- Review pricing and coding for accuracy.
§ Align with sales team to ensure work scope hours and parts are accurate and accounted for within the proposal.
• Obtain clarification on the work scope and adjust as needed.
§ Understand warranty/programs coverages to apply to work orders.
§ Read SB/SL to understand work scope and determine coverages.
o During maintenance- develop estimated labor and parts cost for CSM to present to the customer.
o Prior to invoicing-
§ Review Sales Doc to ensure pricing, coding and corrective action are correct
§ Review all POs and parts to ensure they are closed and returned
§ Review Bill Stat to make financial corrections
Engineering Support: • Serve as the primary contact for Structural Damage Reports (SDR).
o Ensure timely and accurate information flow between engineering and the floor, providing additional information needed to expedite SDR.
o Train and support the Technical Office Coordinator (TOC) on the SDR creation
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's degree required with minimum 7 years of maintenance, technical aircraft or relative experience required.
- In lieu of degree a minimum of 12 years' technical aircraft maintenance or relative experience is required.
- Prior leadership experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of recordkeeping and preparing maintenance schedules
- Proven technical and IT skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Attention to detail and goal-oriented
- Ability to prioritize and manage time-sensitive responsibilities
- Highly motivated
- Ability to work and supervise a technical team
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable
