Role DescriptionAs a Technical Operations Drops Manager at GFiber, you will manage a team of internal contractors and third party vendors to ensure forecasted goals are met related to: schedule, volume, cost and quality. The scope for this role includes responsibility for vendor performance, leadership of cross-functional team initiatives, and support of continuous performance improvement programs. You will ensure the team executes against strategic customer facing activities related to service activation and service assurance. This team is on-the-ground executing complex projects that bring internet access to people.
In this role, you'll:- Manage day-to-day tickets issued to vendors to ensure the timely completion of the drop installation, serve as the vendor manager, track and verify invoiced quantities, own and manage vendor purchase orders (PO's).
- Develop forecasting models and communicate with vendors to ensure the ability to support build schedules and inventory releases.
- Contact customers to help resolve any installation roadblocks, manage escalations from the field, and approve field estimates; ensure excellent customer service always.
- Ensure that Health and Safety standards are followed and coordinate Quality Inspections of drops and Installations, and associated reporting.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to address any drop, installation, or repairs issues, and promote a positive work environment.
- Work with vendors and management to continually improve, change, and develop procedures for efficient installations, and report up to leadership on market performance.
At a minimum, we would like you to have:- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in a vendor management role with customer-facing responsibilities.
- Experience managing telecommunication infrastructure, Fiber to the Home/Plant (FTTx) operations, and/or outside plant (OSP) projects.
- Experience managing capital, operational, and technical programs.
It's preferred that you have:- Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other relevant certifications.
- Experience managing large-scale and dynamic operational projects with competing resources, priorities, and changing workflows.
- Experience managing vendor teams, technicians, or installers in the Telecommunications industry.
- Understanding of CAD, GIS systems and FTTH records/Asbuilts.
- Analytical ability to monitor/review vendors' financial and operational performances.
- Demonstrated ability to employ troubleshooting skills and creative problem solving skills in ambiguous situations. You'll work in a fast-paced, start-up environment that is challenging the status quo in the broadband industry.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $114,000 - $126,000 + bonus + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
