About the role:

The Manager, Technical Marketing serves as both the technical expert for the Pharmacy Automation tradeshow and demo equipment portfolio, and the product marketing expert supporting customer engagements connected to sales opportunities and internal training. This role combines deep product and workflow knowledge with strong customer-facing communication skills to prepare and deliver impactful product demonstrations, support tradeshows and industry events, and manage the Pharmacy Automation Vision Center in Durham, NC.

This position works closely with Marketing, Sales, R&D, and other internal partners to ensure demo products are properly configured, maintained, and ready to showcase the technical capabilities and market the customer benefits of BD Pharmacy Automation solutions.

Responsibilities

Technical Support & Subject Matter Expertise
  • Provide in-depth technical support for Pharmacy Automation tradeshow and demo-pool products used in customer engagements and sales opportunities, either directly or in partnership with the Field Service organization.
  • Serve as a product and workflow expert who can translate technical details into clear, customer-relevant value statements.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of medical device industry trends, customer workflows, and competitor products.


Product Demonstrations & Customer Engagement
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and R&D to prepare and conduct in-person and virtual product demonstrations.
  • Showcase comprehensive technical capabilities, including operation of the equipment, demonstration of product benefits, and relevant customer use cases during external customer demos and internal training sessions.
  • Tailor demonstrations to the customer audience, buying context, and specific workflow needs to strengthen engagement and sales opportunity progression


Tradeshow & Event Support
  • Support the team at tradeshows and industry events to ensure products are available to demonstrate, including providing technical expertise for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support team conducting setup, installation, configuration, and maintenance of demo equipment at tradeshows and local events.
  • Ensure products are demonstration-ready, properly configured, and able to showcase intended capabilities during customer-facing events.


Pharmacy Automation Vision Center Management
  • Elevate the customer experience in the Vision Center through demo space improvements, deep understanding of the customer journey and linking product functionality to customer impact.
  • Manage the onsite Pharmacy Automation Vision Center in Durham, NC, ensuring it is fully equipped, operational, and ready for demonstrations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to schedule and conduct demos for internal and external partners.
  • Support customer-requested disposable sample distribution and related logistics as needed.
  • Maintain a high standard of operational readiness, including equipment reliability, room readiness, and demonstration flow.
  • Lead the strategic plans for the Vision Center including facility improvements, equipment profile and process managment to ensure optimal customer engagements.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and other internal teams to address technical marketing needs related to customer engagements, including measurement of customer impact and linkage to the demand generation funnel.
  • Support internal training and enablement by helping teams understand product capabilities, technical requirements, and customer-facing demonstration messages.
  • Provide feedback from demonstrations, tradeshows, and customer interactions to inform product messaging, customer experience, and commercial readiness.
  • Identify recurring customer questions, typical objections and content gaps that can be used to strengthen sales enablement, marketing communications and future demonstrations.


Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong experience combining technical knowledge with customer facing sales, marketing, or training responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of medical devices and information systems used in pharmacies.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing, to diverse technical and non technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner across functions and levels in global matrixed environment.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize activities based on financial impact and business goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree
  • Parata Systems technical-related experience
