Full Job Description
In this role, you will contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, applying your technical knowledge to solve problems, guide design decisions, and support overall project success. Your recommendations will help shape engineering outcomes and influence important design direction.

While this position does not include direct people management, it offers meaningful leadership opportunities through technical mentorship, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across teams. You will serve as a trusted advisor and reviewer, providing guidance, feedback, and quality assurance throughout the engineering process.

What You'll Do
  • Apply deep and well-rounded engineering expertise across a broad range of project assignments, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient design solutions
  • Provide technical leadership to engineering teams, serving as the lead for design-related decisions on medium to large, complex projects
  • Partner with Project Managers and technical leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and enhanced design efficiency
  • Maintain and grow your technical expertise by staying current with evolving tools, technologies, and industry practices
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure alignment with current standards, regulatory requirements, and industry advancements
  • Mentor and support the development of other engineers by providing guidance, training, and knowledge sharing related to engineering design and code compliance
  • Support and uphold quality standards by contributing to and following ENTRUST's quality control processes and procedures
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team environment focused on continuous improvement and technical excellence
What You Bring
Experience & Education
  • Associate degree in a technical field or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology (or a related discipline), with 8+ years of relevant experience
    OR
  • 13+ years of relevant experience in the utility industry in place of a degree
Technical Expertise
  • Strong proficiency in engineering tools and platforms such as AutoCAD, GIS, EWMS, and related modeling software
  • Deep understanding of engineering principles related to electric and/or gas utility design, including system planning, constructability, and code compliance
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NESC, NEC, DOT, and local utility requirements)
  • Working knowledge of the full utility lifecycle, including design, permitting, construction, and QA/QC processes
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, tools, and trends within utility engineering and infrastructure design
