You will serve as a TECHNICAL INFO SPEC and be responsible for implementing and managing the training, consultation and customer service programs as a direct interface between the SILCBOD-ISB and end users. This position is responsible for supporting these efforts as a senior technical ISB staff member.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Manages the Information Services program, leading a team of technical staff and contractors to deliver IT products and services for the Shore Infrastructure Program.
- Establishes and monitors standards for Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).
- Serves as a project leader for developing and enhancing systems for the management and delivery of technical information.
- Analyzes complex, interdisciplinary technical problems and develops innovative data and information policies, programs, and approaches.
- Serves as a project manager for major projects involving complex issues or new technology, leading interdisciplinary teams.
- Oversees the information management systems for the SILC, developing and managing quality control and assurance criteria.
- Represents the Coast Guard on technical matters with other agencies, industry groups, and national/international standards committees.

QualificationsTo qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the
GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.
- Developing and enforcing standards for data (such as CAD, BIM, GIS); overseeing data integration efforts; performing data analysis; and ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Leading interdisciplinary teams; developing project strategies, schedules, and costs; and tracking project performance and lessons learned.
- Gathering requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and working with technical specialists to develop and deploy solutions.
