Digital Transformation Architect - Job Description (OSS)

This position plays a key role in advancing OSS capabilities and strengthening our support to customer missions across the defense enterprise. The description below outlines the essential duties, expectations, and qualifications for this role.
Position Overview

The Digital Transformation Architect serves as one of OSS's highest-level technical authorities, providing deep subject-matter expertise, strategic guidance, and advanced problem-solving across complex mission domains. This role helps shape technical direction, strengthen solution quality, influence enterprise strategy, and support customer initiatives requiring exceptional expertise and judgment. The Digital Transformation Architect is a trusted advisor who advances OSS capabilities, mentors technical staff, and reinforces OSS's reputation for cybersecurity and analytical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Expertise
  • Provide senior-level insight and authoritative technical guidance across specialized technical domains.
  • Review architectures, research approaches, modeling methods, prototypes, and technical documentation for accuracy and mission relevance.
  • Support high-complexity proposal development, R&D initiatives, and customer engagements requiring advanced technical solutions.
  • Shape OSS's technical standards, quality expectations, and information technology methodologies.
Innovation & Strategy
  • Lead innovation through advanced research, modeling, analysis, and emerging technology evaluation.
  • Identify enterprise capability gaps and recommend enhancements in tools, processes, workforce skills, and technical strategy.
  • Contribute to long-term planning efforts that strengthen competitive positioning and mission-aligned technology development.
Customer Engagement & Collaboration
  • Represent OSS as a senior technical voice to government partners, industry stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Communicate complex topics clearly to executives, program managers, engineers, and non-technical personnel.
  • Support major technical reviews, strategy sessions, color teams, and mission-critical discussions.
Mentorship & Workforce Development
  • Mentor engineers, analysts, and technical staff to expand expertise and elevate execution across OSS programs.
  • Provide guidance on advanced methodologies, career development, and technical decision-making.
  • Contribute to internal training, knowledge-sharing forums, and technical capability-building initiatives.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure technical deliverables meet or exceed relevant standards, including OSS quality processes, ISO practices, and mission requirements.
  • Develop and reinforce best practices for system and network architecture, cybersecurity, analysis, and documentation.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and technical excellence across OSS programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field; Master's or Ph.D. strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive technical experience supporting DoD or federal missions.
  • Demonstrated history of technical leadership, innovation, and high-impact contributions.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred based on program support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in advanced technical domains such as AI/ML, algorithm development, RF systems, modeling and simulation, or missile defense.
  • History of publications, patents, or recognized industry leadership.
  • Prior experience as a Senior Level leader in a Government Contractor, or similar role.
  • Security+, CISSP, or similar certification
