Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with experience in HVAC industry to join our New York team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates that support bidding, budgeting, and project planning for commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and interpret mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing drawings, specifications, and scope documents
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, equipment, and labor
  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages
  • Identify scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to validate pricing and scope
  • Maintain and update cost databases, pricing sheets, and historical project data
  • Support project teams with estimate revisions, clarifications, and budget updates

Qualifications:
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in technical service in HVAC industry
  • Must have prior experience as an HVAC technician
  • Thorough understanding of HVAC parts and mechanical operations and being able to troubleshoot technical issues, both on-site and remotely
  • Must possess strong analytical and conflict management skills and the ability to trouble
  • shoot issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully manage relationships with client operational staff, client executives, company executives, co-workers, subordinates
  • and direct reports.
  • Skilled at establishing and working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic team
  • environment with multiple priorities

The salary range is $80,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data. The base salary is just one component of Ainsworth's total compensation package, which also includes additional rewards and benefits such as short-term incentives and health insurance, among others.
