Technical Engineering Supervisor

What does a successful Technical Engineering Supervisor at Fiserv do?

As a Technical Engineering Supervisor, you will lead the technician team supporting production equipment across 2nd shift in Chesapeake. You will be a partner with operations, maintenance, and site leadership to maintain equipment performance, resolve escalated technical issues, and support a safe, efficient production environment. Your work helps reduce downtime, improve response to equipment issues, and strengthen technician capability across the operation.

What you'll do:
  • Supervise technician coverage across all assigned shifts to support production equipment reliability, timely issue resolution, and consistent maintenance execution.
  • Oversee complex maintenance and repair work on production machines, industrial machinery, timing devices, and electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Review escalated work tickets, direct troubleshooting efforts, and follow through to confirm satisfactory completion of maintenance activities in production.
  • Monitor technician activity on the floor and coach team members on troubleshooting methods, equipment recovery, preventive maintenance, and safe work practices.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate technicians to improve technical capability, work quality, and readiness to support changing operational needs.
  • Partner with operations, vendors, and management on equipment issues, special projects, and process or operational changes that affect maintenance support.
  • Create and maintain reports, work records, and related documentation to track equipment issues, technician activity, and maintenance support needs.
  • Drive cost control efforts by monitoring parts usage, identifying cost savings opportunities, and reducing unnecessary maintenance-related expense.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed in all maintenance activities and address noncompliance through coaching, corrective action, and process reinforcement.

Experience you'll need to have:
  • 5+ years of experience supervising maintenance or technical support activities for production equipment, industrial machinery, or related manufacturing systems.
  • 4+ years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and coordinating maintenance work for mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment in a production or industrial environment.
  • 4+ years of experience managing and developing teams in a maintenance, engineering support, or technical operations environment.
  • 4+ years of experience training technicians, assigning work, and monitoring workflow to support production uptime and maintenance quality.
  • 4+ years of experience creating reports, tracking work activity, and using maintenance records or related systems to support operational decisions.
  • High School Diploma, Associate degree, or higher in engineering technology, industrial maintenance, electronics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.


Experience that would be great to have:
  • Experience supporting equipment across multiple shifts in a high-volume production environment.
  • Experience working with vendors on equipment service, replacement parts, or special project execution.
  • Experience identifying cost savings opportunities related to maintenance parts, repairs, or equipment performance.


How you'll work:
  • This role requires you to work 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm; Monday-Friday and be on -call as needed for weekends.

Salary Range
$79,000.00-$112,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in Virginia and Maine. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.

This position is not eligible for an annual incentive opportunity and is also not eligible to earn commissions.
