Job Summary

The Technical Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support for projects related to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) standards and regulations. This role involves ensuring compliance with PED ISO and ASME codes specifically Section VIII [Div. 1, 2 and 3], Section IX, Section I, and B31.1. Conducting onsite inspections and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Expertise
  • Provide technical guidance and support for ASME and PED-related projects for both clients and BV regional staff.
  • Ability to assist clients with foreign codes including: Brazilian NR-13, Singapore Ministry of Manpower, Malaysian FMD DOSH, Australian and New Zealand certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, PED and special foreign codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct onsite inspections and audits to verify adherence to ASME and PED requirements.

Project Management
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement engineering solutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including reports and proposals.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

Quality Assurance
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure projects meet ASME and PED standards.
  • Identify and address non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ASME and PED standards and industry best practices.

Client Interaction
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Address client inquiries and resolve technical issues promptly.

Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers as needed.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in ASME and PED-related projects or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME and PED codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in technical software and tools.
  • Ability to travel 8-12 weeks required to visit client facilities


Anticipated Compensation

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $95,000-$110,000.
