Full Job Description
Provide on-site, hands-on engineering, installation, configuration, integration, testing, maintenance, and restoration support for continuity-communications and associated Cisco network infrastructure at Mount Weather EOC. The anticipated focus communicated by the prime includes ICCT-related Cisco core/network work, together with lifecycle, configuration-management, operational-readiness, and field-support responsibilities under the FEMA SOW.
• Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, optimize, maintain, and document Cisco routing, switching, network services, attached servers, and telecommunications-system interfaces.
• Support anticipated ICCT-related Cisco core/network modernization activities at Mount Weather, including discovery, site validation, configuration development, staging, implementation, migration, testing, rollback planning, and post-change validation as directed.
• Perform lifecycle and configuration-management activities, maintain approved baselines, prepare change requests and implementation plans, and update diagrams, port maps, inventory, test results, maintenance logs, and operating procedures.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, or replace secure and non-secure communications equipment and associated IP transport, potentially including HF, VHF/UHF LMR, SATCOM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, telephone, satellite telephone, fax, antennas, repeaters, and control equipment.
• Use approved vendor configuration/programming tools and network, RF, and electronic test equipment to isolate faults and restore service.
• Support integration, prototype, user-acceptance, performance, operational-readiness, continuity, and restoration testing.
• Provide technical input to engineering analyses, bills of material, acquisition documentation, DHS EA/TRM and IPv6 compliance artifacts, vulnerability remediation, and technology evaluations.
• Support exercises, deployments, training, site surveys, after-hours changes, and incident restoration at Mount Weather and other directed sites.
Qualifications
• Active final Top Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility; willingness to undergo FSO verification and DHS suitability processing.
• Current CCNA certification, verifiable at the time of candidate submission.
• Three to five years of hands-on network, telecommunications, field engineering, RF/SATCOM, systems-integration, or closely related experience.
• Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, networks, or associated infrastructure.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics; maintain accurate configurations, change records, test results, and maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work full-time on site at Mount Weather EOC in Bluemont, Virginia and support scheduled after-hours changes, exercises, outages, or travel when required.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to comply with classified-facility, badging, nondisclosure, and information-protection requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
• Current CCNP or CCIE in addition to a verifiable current CCNA.
• Cisco core refresh, data-center or campus-network migration, Catalyst/Nexus/ISR/ASR, high availability, routing, switching, network-management, cabling, and implementation experience.
• Prior Mount Weather, FEMA, DHS, DoD, continuity-of-government, emergency-management, public-safety, or other classified-site experience.
• ICCT or comparable integrated continuity-communications experience.
• HF-ALE, HF/VHF/UHF LMR, SATCOM, antennas, repeaters, encryption devices, secure voice, RF test equipment, cable fabrication, or field-service experience.
• DHS SELC, configuration/change management, DHS EA/TRM, IPv6, technical evaluation, test-and-evaluation, or operational-readiness experience.
Additional Information
• Active final Top Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility; current TS/SCI strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant work experience may substitute
