Position Description
We are seeking a Technical Delivery Manager with deep enterprise infrastructure experience to lead the technical direction of a dedicated managed services pod based in Troy, Michigan. The ideal candidate has a strong background as a hands-on engineering leader and is comfortable directing dedicated technical teams without owning their HR line. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on architecture quality, change posture, and the technical roadmap across enterprise customer infrastructure estates.
What You'll Do
- Direct a dedicated technical pod consisting of technical staff supported by a shared engineering bench of Cloud, Network, Compute, ITSM, and Endpoint specialists.
- Own end-to-end technical accountability for enterprise customer infrastructure including multi-site data center, branch, and cloud estates.
- Lead architecture reviews, change advisory boards, and root-cause analysis sessions in a hands-on capacity.
- Run point on enterprise infrastructure refresh programs across compute, storage, network, and virtualization, including design, vendor evaluation, migration planning, and execution oversight.
- Partner with customer-side program leadership on cadence, scorecards, and escalation paths, with clear technical and commercial RACI established at engagement kickoff.
- Serve as Jolera's senior technical voice in front of customer CIOs and IT directors during executive engagements.
- Coach the on-site Senior Architects and bench engineers, raising the technical bar of everything the pod delivers each quarter.
- Produce executive-grade written communication including root-cause analyses, design documents, scorecards, and roadmap summaries on a weekly cadence.
Requirements
Who You Are
- 10+ years across enterprise infrastructure roles, including time as a senior architect, principal engineer, lead consultant, or senior delivery role with real technical depth.
- Strong working knowledge of VMware vSphere, Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS), Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, enterprise networking (cloud-managed and traditional), and enterprise firewalls.
- Demonstrated ability to direct technical teams without owning their HR line.
- ITIL and ITSM fluency, with practical experience operating against an enterprise change, incident, and problem management framework.
- Excellent written communication, with the ability to own executive-grade documents end-to-end.
- Comfortable being on-site in Troy, MI multiple times per week with some weeks heavier than others.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior MSP, MSSP, or Global Systems Integrator (GSI) delivery experience.
- Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) lifecycle and migration experience on any major platform.
- Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) operations or migration leadership.
- Direct experience operating alongside customer-side program leadership, PMO, or VMO.
- ServiceNow administration or implementation experience (CSA, CIS-ITSM, CIS-CSM).
- Microsoft or VMware certifications at the architect or expert level.
