YOUR IMPACT
You will resolve difficult network challenges, acting as a technical authority who influences product serviceability through direct collaboration with Cisco Engineering. This role combines deep problem solving with mentorship and the creation of automated tools that improve our global support ecosystem.
You will provide 2nd and 3rd Tier consultation and debug complex network topologies. Act as a bridge to internal engineering departments by submitting detailed bug reports, reviewing functional specifications, and authoring serviceability requirements.
Produce and share user documentation, training materials, and diagnostic scripts for global use by partners and customers. Develop shared lab environments to simulate customer scenarios and investigate innovative solutions for the issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in technical support, network engineering, or consulting role.
• Experience debugging unique network topologies for Large Enterprise customers, specifically within Cisco Data Center, ACI, and UCS environments.
• Proficiency in Data Center Layer 2 overlays (e.g., VXLAN, EVPN) and Layer 2 security features (e.g., port security, MACsec, ACL, private VLANs, Layer 3 Overlay Protocols).
• Expert-level knowledge of IP internetworking, LAN Switching Protocols (MLS, CEF, 802.1Q, STP, HSRP, LACP/PAGP), IP Routing (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), SRV6, QoS, and Multicast.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus 2000, 3000, 5000, 7000, 9000, and ACI solutions.
• Experience documenting technical issues in incident management systems and providing clear, written status updates to collaborators.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Expert-level certification such as CCIE or equivalent industry credential.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., Python) to develop digital tools and improve efficiency.
• Experience working with Public Sector or high-security clients, with an understanding of their specific operational and compliance requirements.
• Strong collaborative approach with the ability to influence internal product organizations to improve serviceability.
• Bilingual proficiency in Canadian French and English is highly desired.
