Full Job Description
Position Summary
The Technical Administrator - CLM Systems will serve as the primary owner and administrator of athenahealth's Contract Lifecycle Management platform, Agiloft. This role is responsible for configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of contract management workflows, ensuring the platform effectively supports Legal, Procurement, and other business stakeholders.

This individual will act as a process enabler who translates business requirements into scalable system design and takes ownership of the CLM platform's health, reliability, and evolution.

About the Team
This role partners closely with Legal Operations and IT to drive platform adoption, streamline contract processes, and enable scalable, data-driven legal workflows. Over time, the scope may expand to include additional legal technology tools such as Harvey, RelativityOne, and ServiceNow, with an expectation of growing into broader Legal Systems ownership.

Core Responsibilities
  • Agiloft platform ownership
    • Serve as the primary system administrator for Agiloft.
    • Manage user administration, configuration, permissions, and system governance.
    • Configure and maintain workflows, approvals, templates, clause libraries, and automation rules.
    • Design and implement new functionality and improve existing workflows.
    • Manage releases, enhancements, and ongoing platform optimization.
    • Ensure performance, reliability, and data integrity across the contract lifecycle.
    • Provide end-user support, training, and issue triage/resolution.


  • Workflow optimization and legal process enablement
    • Partner with Legal Operations and business stakeholders to design scalable contract workflows.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve cycle times, and increase automation.
    • Support contract intake, tracking, approval routing, and reporting capabilities.


  • Integrations and technical enablement
    • Manage integrations between Agiloft and enterprise systems such as Salesforce, ERP platforms, ServiceNow, and document storage tools.
    • Partner with IT and vendors to design, implement, and maintain APIs and data flows.
    • Ensure consistency and accuracy of data across connected systems.


  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
    • Act as the primary liaison between Legal, Procurement, Sales Operations, IT, and other business teams on CLM initiatives.
    • Gather and translate business requirements into system configurations and enhancements.
    • Support onboarding, training, and adoption of CLM capabilities.


  • Reporting and data management
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on contract metrics such as cycle time, volume, and bottlenecks.
    • Support strong data governance and auditability.
    • Provide insights that support legal operations and executive decision-making.


  • Future expansion into legal systems support
    • Build familiarity with additional legal tools, including Harvey and ServiceNow.
    • Support integration and coordination across the legal technology stack.
    • Contribute to the evolution of a more unified legal systems ecosystem.


Required Experience & Skills
  • 3+ years of experience administering Agiloft CLM or a similar contract lifecycle management platform.
  • Strong hands-on experience with workflow configuration, business rules, forms, and automation.
  • Experience supporting contract management or legal operations processes.
  • Proven ability to manage system configurations and end-user support in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience with integrations, APIs, and data synchronization across enterprise platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Salesforce, and AI-enabled legal tools such as Harvey preferred.
  • Experience with reporting tools, dashboards, or data analysis tools such as Excel or Power BI preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Ability to understand relational data concepts and apply logical query construction and rule-based automation.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on scalability, governance, accuracy, and auditability.
  • Self-starter with a strong ownership mindset and willingness to expand into broader legal technology responsibilities.

Expected Compensation
$102,000 - $174,000
The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
